Abstract/Summary

This report examines the processes and methods used when recording, mixing and mastering a digital sound effects library. This includes, but is not limited to, an analysis of instrumentation, microphone selection, and signal processing in the music software program, Logic Pro X. The instruments in this virtual library consist of marimba, xylophone, timpani, cymbals, rainstick, snare drum, triangle, shaker, agogo bell, kick drum, snare drum, djembe, congas, tambourine, thunder tube, and wind chimes. In addition to these instruments, I have also recorded sound effects, such as claps, snaps, door slams, knocks, and ambient noises.
