Abstract/Summary

The goal of Etudes of Existence was to experiment with sounds and compositional techniques that were different from what I normally use. It is completely recorded and written by me, using my home setup to put everything together. The three-track EP revolves around the main concepts of musical time and color, with the first track focusing on time, the second on color, and third on both. I was interested in exploring these ideas because I love synthesizers and really wanted to experiment with their timbre. I decided that time would be a good complement to timbral color and set out to make a set of etudes focus on the two.
