Abstract/Summary

This project analyzes Max Steiner’s score from the film Casablanca. I evaluated how the functions of the film score evoke various moods in the film. It also includes an aural musical analysis of each cue. I applied the rubric of film music functions that I learned in my History of Film Music class as well as my knowledge from theory courses in order to execute this project.
