Abstract/Summary

With the tough on crime mentality, incarceration rates have rose throughout the country in regard to drug, alcohol, mental health and crime related issue(s). Because of this, our nation has been plagued by inequality in criminal justice along with inequity in incarceration sentencing. This literature discusses the background of the issue, along with the Who, what, where and most importantly, why. Finally, we are given proposed solutions by experts in the industry and guidance on where we can go from here.
