Abstract/Summary

This Final Design Review report outlines the senior project sponsored by General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc., to design an unmanned aerial vehicle landing gear uplock and door locks. The main goal of the project is to create a proof-of-concept uplock that does not operate on hydraulic power, has minimal moving parts, and can support the weight, vertical acceleration and aerodynamic loads on the landing gear or doors. The document covers the background research, design specifications, design selection process, justifications, manufacturing, and verification of the functional prototype.
