Abstract/Summary
This paper aims to outline the process of developing and creating an online instructional video tutorial for beginner level individuals who hope to learn and utilize AutoCAD software. AutoCAD, developed by Autodesk, is a computer-aided design software that provides users with the ability to create and edit digital 2D and 3D designs, which is more efficient than traditional hand-drawn models. The main objective of this project is to provide the public with access to learning and navigating AutoCAD software on their own, for personal gain. Construction Management students at Cal Poly have the opportunity to learn and use AutoCAD as part of their curriculum, but not everyone has this privilege. The final product of this project will be in the form of a video, which will be made publicly available on YouTube. The video will be pre-recorded using screen-sharing software and will be divided into two sections. The first section will cover the basic history of AutoCAD and the different tools and their applications and purposes. The second section will be a demonstration of how to create an architectural floor plan drawing in real-time.
