Abstract

This report focuses on what it means to be a polytechnic university in the 21st century. It features a keynote address by John P. Morgridge, chairman emeritus of Cisco, followed by presentations and discussions addressing development of a diverse science and engineering workforce with a global perspective; the elements of a "new liberal education"; and the role and importance of industry, university and government partnerships.
