Abstract/Summary

The purpose of this project was to create an instructional booklet that would act as a supplement for high school floral design students and instructors as they created the five Western Line design styles. The booklet includes high-quality photographs and step-by-step instructions on how to construct each of the Western Line designs (vertical, horizontal, formal, informal and l-shape). It also includes a profile for each arrangement and a list of materials that are needed to create each design. This instructional booklet will be an important addition to floral design classes, which are present in many agriculture departments in high schools. Floral design is university approved for fine arts credit. A booklet will act as a visual resource for students in this class as they explore different floral arrangements.
