Abstract

"Jump Start into Industrial Careers" was a pilot program for rising high school seniors with an interest in learning more about careers in industrial careers. The program is a regional effort of community colleges to offer a 4-week paid internship to help students gain the skills they need for jobs with local manufacturing companies. The goal of the program is to attract and engage the next generation of high skilled employees to meet the need of local industry and provide good paying jobs to the residents of the Central Valley.
