Abstract/Summary

Road trips can be described through their freedom and spontaneity, yet the actual planning process can be repetitive and overwhelming. Hidden Miles is a conceptual mobile app designed to reimagine this experience by offering personalized, surprise-filled routes that reduce planning fatigue. The app asks for minimal input with just basic information like a starting point, destination, and interests before dynamically revealing an itinerary with curated stops that reveal themselves as the traveler continues their journey. This approach is grounded in key graphic communication and UX principles, mainly being Design Thinking, Decision Making Theory, and Perception in Interface Design. These theories guide the app’s focus on emotional engagement, reduced cognitive load, and intuitive navigation that ultimately transform the road trip process from a chore into a simple, engaging activity.
