Abstract/Summary

This report has been assembled to create a training program and best practices model for actions conducted by collegiate baseball programs as they relate to the interactions with and recruitment of athletes. Through the lens of the four flows and social influence theory recruiters can better understand how to interact with recruits and their parents which could lead to an increase of talented players recruited for a university’s program. As student-athletes choose which school they want to play for, the recruiter is their window into life at that particular school, therefore recruiters who are better acquainted with the communication theories and practices discussed in this assessment can gain an advantage in this process and become a catalyst for the betterment of their program.
