On behalf of Cal Poly and the Governor’s Office of Planning & Research, we welcome you to the Cal Poly campus for the California Climate Action Planning Conference. California is a national and international leader in developing solutions for the climate change crisis. Consistent with Cal Poly’s Learn by Doing approach, you have been doing the hard work of inventorying greenhouse gas emissions, collaborating with citizens and public officials, and developing and implementing climate action plans. Now is a moment for you to share your collective knowledge and wisdom, and learn from each other. In his recent Inaugural Address, President Obama said: “We will respond to the threat of climate change, knowing that the failure to do so would betray our children and future generations.” With that sentiment driving our work, we look forward to the potential of this landmark event. -- The CCAPC Steering Committee and Cal Poly Conference Team
