UCLA Weintraub Center Sustainability Efforts: Recycling Policy Development

Abstract
Faculty from the Weintraub Center for Reconstructive Biotechnology (WCRB) will present on how they have implemented new practices in the research setting. Resources for this project came from the UCLA Academic Sustainability Subcommittee, the Chancellor’s Facilities Management Team, and the student-initiated Education for Sustainable Living Program (ESLP), which provided student researchers to revise their recycling policy. Laboratory Research And Technical Staff (LabRATS), a program recently profiled in SCIENCE magazine, will then present on their sustainability assessment program for laboratories and how they are applying for LEED™ innovation points for building occupants’ involvement in the LabRATS Program.
