Abstract
On February 10, 2012, Nicholas Garrison gave a senior recital in partial fulfillment of the requirements for a bachelor's degree in music from California Polytechnic State University - San Luis Obispo. In the first half of the recital he performed works by Jean Baptiste Singelee, Eugene Bozza, and Pierre-Max Dubois on the baritone saxophone. He was accompanied by Susan Azaret Davies on piano and Dave Becker on baritone saxophone. The second half of the recital consisted of a suite of Arabic and Turkish music based on maqam bayyati. Garrison performed on the nay and was accompanied by Joel Demir on `ud, Kurt Gramckow on `ud, Pamela Sheffler on violin, and Keeth CrowHawk Hershman on riqq, daff, and darabukka.
