Abstract/Summary
[inside]OUT is my vision for Channel Islands High School as a water-conscious and user based institution. With a specific focus on the Quad, the school’s central plaza, I re-imagine CI as a living, educational landscape.
I chose to take on this project because I want to make a difference for this school that is close to my heart. I want it to thrive by sustainable means.
With the severe California drought and global water crisis, it is time to shift the status quo in regards to water consumption. After much site analysis and countless iteration, I have created a new Quad that responds to student activity, cuts irrigation, and reintroduces the water cycle.
